Faq’s

  • Yoga is for everyone and there are many types of yoga including types of yoga that you remain still in a relaxed position lying on the floor. Yoga will improve your flexibility with time as tension releases and you start opening your body to movement. The teacher will always offer options to yoga postures so that each student can access the pose at their level.

  • It is important to wear clothes that you feel comfortable moving, some people prefer to wear leggings, but you can equally wear lose bottoms that allow you to move and a vest or T-shirt will work really well

  • Regular practice is most important, so even little and often is the best to develop your practice, start with an aim to come to class once a week and then slowly progress to twice or more times a week, you can of course have a balance of studio practice and self-practice at home

  • Yoga can help to improve your strength and fitness levels, and yoga develops your breath awareness, helping you breath more effectively. Yoga styles range from more dynamic to very relaxing types of yoga; in all yoga classes we focus on having a mindful approach, we want to develop our physical awareness and quality ensure over quantity, however, some styles like Power Yoga and Ashtanga can build up a sweat.

  • It is all about finding a balance, yin and yang as we call it in Yoga, it is great to exercise and go to the gym, but you also need the calm and time for your body to rest and digest, it might feel difficult at first to quieten down but soon it will feel easier and easier, it is often the things that we find difficult that we need the most, it is a learning journey
